Images of the Atmos NYC collaboration with PONY, which is largely known in the States for providing many of the NBAs top players with their sneakers in the mid 80's, yet most UK residents will remember PONY for designing kits for Football teams such as Spurs, West Ham and Oldham. But as of April 25th, PONY will be remembered for producing a great collaboration with heavy hitters Atmos.
Although I'm not the biggest fan of Basketball sneakers, I do really like the older models, such as the Jordan 1 and the PONY Slam Dunk Hi which is featured here. I think they hold the same nostalgia for Basketball fans as a solid retro of a runner does for fans of runners.

As seen above, we have got two very basic colour ways both with New York right at the heart.
With the first of the pack we have the New York State of Mind colour-way, top to bottom in a Mint buttery suede, featuring the iconic Chevron on the side of the shoe in a White leather. Little details include Pony branding on the tounge, on top of a Statue of Liberty Crown (which sees this shoe nicknamed by Atmos themselves, The Statue of Liberty Green). The shoe also features Atmos branding embossed into the suede on the heel of the shoe. The New York State of Mind is then all pulled together with a Gum sole.

Moving onto the Big Apple Red, the shoe is basically flipped from Mint to Red, also top to bottom in the same plush suede, almost reminiscent of the Red carpet which is so familiar with NYC. The shoe features the same Chevron Pony branding on the side and instep of the shoe, yet in a Red leather instead of White. As with the Mint colour way, the same NYC theme is taken on the tounge tab, yet on this shoe we see the iconic I Love NY print, modified to have the Chevron in place of the heart. Again seen on the Mint shoe, we have the Gum sole, to deal with the grubby sidewalks of NY, and the same embossed Atmos logo in the suede on the heel of the shoe. As seems to be a reoccurring theme with all Red sneakers, we see Gold lace tips on this model, which where most notably seen on the Red October Yeezy 2's, although this has nothing to do with Yeezy or NYC, this is a nice touch, as most people who will be buying the Red pair because of the Yeezy 2's, have now saved $20 on buying a set themselves.
Although these shoes (up to now) will not be available to purchase here in the UK, I still thought it would be important to acknowledge the little details in the pack, and if there was ever a way to pay homage to the city that helped make your store what it is, this is the way to go. The shoes will be available through Atmos NYC via phone orders or in-store.
