Release Info: Adidas Spezial Capsule Collection - Footwear

24th of October sees the official launch of the Spezial Capsule collection, brought together by huge collectors in Gary Aspden, Robert Brooks and Stone Roses head man Ian Brown, but more importantly through the generosity of Carlos Ruiz, the man behind the Vintage Adidas cave in Argentina.

Carlos kindly let the Adi fanatics into his humble store, with walls stacked full of old blue boxes, windows full of vintage sports merchandise and a massive love for the Adidas brand as a whole. For me it seems the obsession of the Spezial team and Carlos is what makes this capsule collection truly 'Spezial'. Its not about how much hype this collection has brought to the table, but how everyone involved understands how much the brand means to one another.

Onto the collection, which involved a bit of mixing it up with the Hand-Burgs. These are made up from a Hamburg sole and a Handball upper, with a very clean make up of white leather and gold branding. All very stripped back, yet very effective.

Also involved is a personal favourite of mine, the Adidas Touring Spezial, featuring a green nu-buck upper, another shoe that isn't over the top, but looks very smart. They have also held back on the Adidas Touring Spezial (a personal favourite of mine), giving it a nice simple green nu-buck upper teamed with that legendary gum sole.

The Adidas Boston has also had a rework with a clean white suede/mesh upper, red hits along the three strips and heel counter part, and that crisp white/red sole.

Last but not least is the Adidas Topanga, which consists of a very simple light brown/bronze suede upper with a more synthetic looking suede making up the stripes and heel tabs.

Participating stores consist of Hanon, End Clothing, Oi Polloi, Triads, Well Gosh, Consortium, SNS, Footpatrol and Oki-ni alongside the London and Liverpool Adidas Originals stores. Have a look at all four of the models below.
