Over the past couple of years, ASICS has really cemented it;s name in Sneaker Culture as well as being the brand seemingly doing the most collaborative work. This is a great way of giving us what we want, in plush materials and killer colourways. This time; ASICS have teamed up with Barcelona's very own LimitEDition to bring us the SurrEDaliste.
With the store being sharing their Catalan province with Salvador Dali, so the store have used this Collaboration to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of his death, and to also mark their 10th year in the business. Drawing inspiration from Dali's work on the Catalonia Landscape, which can be seen reflected in Gel-Lyte V form.
With the upper of the Gel-Lyte V made up of premium brown nubuck with textured velour panels, orange neoprene sock liner on the outer and inside is lined in Goat leather. As you might know, 2015 is the year of the Goat so LimitEDition will be using the material on most of its collaborative projects throughout the coming year.
The shoe also features custom embroidery on the outer neoprene tongue, with one shoe featuring a fly and the other ants. This small feature is representative of Dali's use of insects throughout his work. All of this is sat upon an off white mid sole, with brown speckling and Light Blue gradient, reminiscent of the sea which also played a massive part in Dalis artwork, all wrapped off with a clean Gum sole.
The SurrEDaliste will be available in the UK 13th December, priced at £120 and available at the End Clothing, Hanon and Footpatrol.
